Is Personal Care Right for Your Loved One?

Personal care is ideal for seniors who need physical assistance to maintain hygiene and daily routines but want to remain in their own home. It's often the difference between staying at home and needing a facility.

Common situations we help with:

  • Recovery from surgery, stroke, or illness
  • Progressive conditions (Parkinson's, dementia, COPD)
  • Reduced mobility or fall risk
  • Aging in place with limited family nearby
  • Transitioning home from hospital or rehab

"After my father's hip replacement, LTN was there every morning helping him bathe and dress. His caregiver was patient, professional, and genuinely kind. Dad went from anxious about the transition to looking forward to his visits."

Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is included in personal care?

Personal care covers assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs): bathing, showering, dressing, grooming (hair, oral hygiene, shaving), toileting and incontinence care, medication reminders, and mobility/transfer assistance.

How is personal care different from companionship?

Personal care involves hands-on physical assistance with hygiene and self-care tasks. Companionship focuses on social engagement, light housekeeping, and errands. Many clients receive both as part of a blended care plan.

Do caregivers help with medications?

Yes. Our caregivers provide medication reminders and assist with medications that have been pre-organized by the client or a family member. For medication administration, we can arrange an RN oversight visit.

What is the minimum visit length?

Our minimum visit is 2 hours. Many clients schedule 3–4 hour morning routines to cover bathing, dressing, breakfast, and light housekeeping.

How quickly can care start?

In most cases we can begin care within 24–48 hours of completing our free in-home assessment. For urgent situations, we often accommodate same-day starts.
